Strategic Sourcing Manager

We have a unique opportunity for an experienced full-time Strategic Sourcing Manager to join the Finance team.  The successful candidate will lead and optimize the centre-led procurement function, ensuring value, efficiency, and sustainability across all spending categories. As well as running elite horse racing at Caulfield, Sportsbet Sandown and Mornington Racecourses, we own 14 pub venues under the Pegasus Leisure Group (PLG).What will your responsibilities be?Manage the centre-led Procurement function as a procurement subject matter expert for the MRC, leading negotiations with suppliers.Craft and execute a strategic procurement approach to streamline the supply chain and fortify supplier alliances.Manage defined spend categories, including delivery of strategic sourcing projects and coordination of relevant stakeholders to ensure supply effectiveness and competitiveness.Elevate supplier partnerships to fuel innovation, mitigate risks, and guarantee supply chain stability and efficiency.Align procurement strategies with MRC's overarching goals, adapting to market dynamics, managing risks, and promoting sustainability.Develop and implement an ongoing capability and training program to embed leading practice procurement across the business.Skills & ExperienceBachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, or related field.Minimum of 7 years of experience in a procurement role, with a proven track record in strategic procurement, contract management and achieving cost savings.Experience with implementing procurement best practices and strategies.Demonstrated experience in stakeholder management and project management.Excellent negotiation skills and experience managing supplier relationships.Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and ethical procurement practices.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.What’s in it for you?
