As well as running elite horse racing at Caulfield, Ladbrokes Park (Sandown), and Mornington Racecourses, we own 14 pub venues under the Pegasus Leisure Group (PLG), an emerging collection of owned events such as The Peninsula Picnic and the MRC Foundation, our charitable arm. Due to growth of the business, MRC’s Legal, Risk & Compliance team have a vacancy for a Risk & Safety Officer. Based at Caulfield Racecourse, but with requirements to travel between all three racetracks and 14 venues, the Risk & Safety Officer will coordinate, administer, develop, and improve The Club’s general risk approach towards Occupational Health & Safety and Risk Management.  The successful candidate will need to assist in emergency management and event control at events and fulfil the Safety Officer role on certain event days including weekend and public holidays as required.  Key accountabilities Assist in the testing of emergency plansCoordinating training and information sessions on system changes and OHS generallySupport the implementation of company OHS policies and proceduresAssist in facilitating internal and external safety consultationMaintain training matrix and coordination of training requirementsCompleting various SMS audits, pre-event audits and event debriefsCreating and facilitating risk assessment for plant, manual handling, and chemicalsEnsure incident reporting and investigation utilising the incident management systemReview online induction processesSkills & Experience Certificate IV in work health & safety Understanding of OH&S legislation and regulations Current drivers licenceRacing, gaming venue or event management experience advantageous  Audit experience  Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant software applications Application of data trend analysis and executive reporting Policy and procedure development Self-starter with ability to take initiative High level of accuracy and attention to detail What’s in it for you? $75,000 - $85,000 + Super based on experience Flexible working arrangements to support a work-life balance. Ongoing learning & development opportunities through the organisation-wide DRIVE Development program. Diversity and inclusion initiatives and program,Access to our year-round well-being initiatives including our Employee Assistance Program for staff and family. Racing Industry Member passes, discounts across our family of brands and free tickets to a wide range of events. Free onsite parking or a short walk from Caulfield Station. Paid Volunteer and Parental Leave. Monthly staff lunches  Melbourne Racing Club values differences in gender, age, ethnicity, race, cultural background, disability, religion, and sexual orientations and encourages all suitable applicants to apply for this role.  AUD Caulfield East 3145
