Retail Operations Manager

We have a unique opportunity for a full-time Retail Operations Manager to join the Food & Beverage Team. This role oversees all beverage inventory and operational activities for both race day and non-race day events.The successful candidate will ensure optimal stock levels, manage vendor relationships, and maintain warehouse and outlet readiness, all while aligning with financial targets and beverage contracts.The Melbourne Racing Club (MRC) is proud to be recognised as a 2022, 2023 & 2024 Winner of The Australian Business Awards for Employer of Choice. As well as running elite horse racing at Caulfield, Sportsbet Sandown and Mornington Racecourses, we own 14 pub venues under the Pegasus Leisure Group (PLG).What will your responsibilities be?Manage beverage stock purchasing and consumption for all race day and non-race day events.Develop and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.Oversee warehouse and outlet readiness, including stock security and cleanliness.Manage and maintain accurate inventory levels, including ordering, receiving, and stocktaking.Coordinate event logistics to ensure smooth service delivery, managing setup, staffing, and vendor communication while maintaining high standards.Lead training on inventory and outlet set up/pack down policies and procedures.Skills & ExperiencePrior experience within the Hospitality or Events industries, specifically in large-scale events retail operations.Proven experience as a Retail Operations Manager or in a similar managerial role.Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate.Strong understanding of retail operations, merchandising, and customer service principles.Excellent leadership and organisational abilities.Familiarity with retail software and point-of-sale systems.Strong attention to detail.Self-motivated, reliable, and hard-working.Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.What’s in it for you?
