We have a great opportunity for a full-time Operations Coordinator to join the Operations team. This role leads and assists with the operational and logistical delivery of the Melbourne Racing Club’s race days and other events across our three racecourses: Caulfield Racecourse, Mornington Racecourse, and Sportsbet Sandown.
The successful candidate will assist with event infrastructure bump-in, set-up, and bump-out activities, as well as provide support and maintenance on event days, ensuring everything runs smoothly from start to finish.

What will your responsibilities be?
- Act as the Operations Team’s on-ground lead for the delivery of temporary infrastructure builds, for all race days and MRC-owned events.
- Assist in the planning and execution of major events.
- Oversee operations assets and storage spaces.
- Assist with venue setup requirements for non-race day events.
- Coordinate the maintenance program for all operational vehicles and machinery and upkeep of compliance documentation.
- Assist the Sandown and Mornington teams in the planning & delivery of venue requirements for events.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve the operation and presentation of the venues.
Skills & Experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a fast-paced, multi-use sports/entertainment venue.
- Proven experience in managing relationships with contractors, suppliers & partners.
- Current Driver’s Licence.
- Current Forklift Licence.
- Ability to set up and supervise teams performing event logistics.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to multi-task.
- Team first attitude.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Sound understanding of event overlays and service plans.
- Sound understanding of risk & safety principles in relation to event operations and logistics.
