Reporting to the Senior Function & Events Manager, MRC is looking for a Full-Time Permanent Assistant Function & Event Manager in the Food and Beverage department elevating the guest experience, implementing innovative strategies, and upholding brand standards to drive the success of our Food and Beverage department.We are looking for a team player to coordinate, facilitate & lead functions and events effectively and efficiently, across our three racecourses: Caulfield, Sandown and Mornington.As a key member of the Food and Beverage department, this role will concentrate on overseeing casual staff management, identifying key personnel, and implementing enhancements aligned with the MRC’s values.The Melbourne Racing Club (MRC) is proud to be recognised as a 2022 & 2023 Winner of The Australian Business Awards for Employer of Choice.Duties and responsibilitiesDeliver superior food and beverage service to maximise customer satisfaction.Ensure effective management of casual staff.Acting as a hands-on manager and actively participating in the setup, execution, and pack down of both race day events and private functions.Ensure compliance with OHS, liquor licensing and implement responsible service practices.Troubleshooting issues to ensure smooth running of events for both clients and the internal team.Work with food & beverage department on activities such as stock management, POS, menu design and concept creation.Ability to independently manage functions and race days.Skills and ExperienceDemonstrate strong experience in food & beverage.Current RSA certificate.Current Victorian drivers licence.Proven experience in hospitality management, functions, and general staff management.A team player with the ability to lead by example.Exceptional customer service skills.What’s in it for you?Ongoing learning & development opportunities through the organisation-wide DRIVE Development program.Access to our year-round well-being initiatives including our Employee Assistance Program for staff and family.
