We have an amazing opportunity for a full-time Assistant Accountant to join our Finance Team. This role will contribute to the financial reporting and accounting activities for our Racing, Events, and Administration business units.
The successful candidate will ensure recurring management reporting requirements are completed, financial control is accurate, and provide support and guidance within the Finance team and wider business.

What will your responsibilities be?
- Compile departmental profit and loss commentary; prepare and present monthly reports.
- Contribute to department annual budgets and forecasts.
- Ensure timely and accurate reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
- Review and post journal entries for departments and prepare and process month-end journals.
- Assist with external audit queries.
- Ensure F&B and merchandise stocktakes are performed and reconciled in line with agreed timeframes.
- Actively participate in system implementations and new procedure development.
- Timely preparation and submission of Business Activity Statements, Fringe Benefits Tax and ABS Surveys.
Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance.
- Minimum two years of commercial experience in a similar role.
- Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite – including Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
- Strong report writing skills.
- Demonstrated experience with accounting software packages and producing management reports.
- Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
- Team player with the ability to work autonomously.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong understanding of accounting standards, principles, and functions and their application in a commercial environment.
