Racing Coordinator

We have a unique opportunity for a Racing Coordinator to join our Racing & Operations team on a full-time basis. This is an incredible opportunity to be at the heart of the action, supporting the planning and execution of horse racing events. The successful candidate will support the team to ensure racing events run smoothly, maintaining the highest safety standards for horses, participants, and spectators while delivering an outstanding experience for all attendees.The Melbourne Racing Club (MRC) is proud to be recognised as a 2022, 2023 & 2024 Winner of The Australian Business Awards for Employer of Choice. As well as running elite horse racing at Caulfield, Sportsbet Sandown and Mornington Racecourses, we own 15 pub venues under the Pegasus Leisure Group (PLG).What will your responsibilities be?Coordinate race meetings preparations including scheduling the order of races with Racing Victoria, providing race field information, and managing jump-outs and horse stall plans. Ensure all logistical aspects of the race day run smoothly, from participant registration to event logistics.Work closely with racing participants, owners, media, sponsors, vendors, and local authorities to ensure successful execution.Compile and update accurate race book content.Create and manage department purchase orders and invoicing.Provide and create racing content for social media platforms, as required.Skills & ExperienceBackground or strong interest in the racing industry.Previous experience or exposure to administrative duties.Proven experience creating engaging content on major social media platforms (e.g. Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn).Excellent written and verbal communication skills, coupled with strong interpersonal skills. Proficient in using the Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Google Workspace.
